Operations Manager - vendor management (Grand Rapids, MI)

We are growing our team at Lumen Forge Transit Planning and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 107 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for fare systems and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
