Operations Manager - vendor management (Detroit, MI)

Fernwood Oak Foods is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on vendor management for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 982 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for cold storage and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with sanitation schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
