Operations Manager - vendor management (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Amber Construction is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on vendor management for subcontractor invoices, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for subcontractor invoices and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with safety records. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
