Operations Manager - vendor management (Des Moines, IA)

Westbrook Clear Freight Partners coordinates shipments and warehousing around Des Moines, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our vendor management. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
