Operations Manager - vendor management (Columbus, OH)

Westbrook Clear Freight Associates moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Columbus. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 167 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Columbus, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
