Operations Manager - vendor management (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen Cedar Farms is an agricultural business based around Birmingham. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a small organisation of about 177 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for field records and act on them. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
