Operations Manager - vendor management (Birmingham, AL)

Stonegate Oak Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Birmingham. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on vendor management. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
