Operations Manager - vendor management (Anchorage, AK)

Fernwood Manufacturing is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on vendor management for machine downtime, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 625 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for machine downtime and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • Lean or continuous-improvement training.
