Operations Manager - throughput and quality (remote)

Nova Sparrow Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on throughput and quality. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Track performance measures for proof of delivery and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
