Operations Manager - throughput and quality (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood West Environmental Services and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be throughput and quality. You would join a small organisation of about 176 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for landfill records and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
