Operations Manager - throughput and quality (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Stone Transit Planning and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be throughput and quality. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for route schedules and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
