Operations Manager - throughput and quality (Knoxville, TN)

Redstone Vale Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Knoxville and nearby communities. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on throughput and quality. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for pipe repairs and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
