Operations Manager - throughput and quality (Charlotte, NC)

Fernwood Forge Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Charlotte, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our throughput and quality. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
