Operations Manager - throughput and quality (Boston, MA)

Fernwood Beacon Manufacturing is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on throughput and quality for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for work orders and act on them. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with machine downtime. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
