Operations Manager - throughput and quality (Birmingham, AL)

Highbridge Stone Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Birmingham. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on throughput and quality. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with customer tracking. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
