Operations Manager - throughput and quality (Austin, TX)

Fernwood Corner Construction is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on throughput and quality for safety records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 46 people based in Austin. What you will do • Track performance measures for safety records and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
