Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (remote)

Stonegate Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on scheduling and capacity. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
