Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Portland, OR)

Lumen Pine Manufacturing is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on scheduling and capacity for machine downtime, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Portland. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for machine downtime and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Portland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
