Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Oakland, CA)

Fernwood Junction Construction is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on scheduling and capacity for materials orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 571 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Track performance measures for materials orders and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with subcontractor invoices. • Lean or continuous-improvement training.
