Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (New Orleans, LA)

Cedar Wren Freight Group moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of New Orleans. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on scheduling and capacity. We reward reliability. What you will do • Track performance measures for claims and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
