Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Summit Maple Manufacturing and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be scheduling and capacity. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for scrap and rework and act on them. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with tooling. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
