Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Cedar Wren Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be scheduling and capacity. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
