Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Sparrow Transit Planning and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be scheduling and capacity. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
