Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Chicago, IL)

Ironwood Sparrow Energy Group supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Chicago. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on scheduling and capacity. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
