Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Chicago, IL)

Fernwood Sable Manufacturing makes precision components in Chicago. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on scheduling and capacity. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with scrap and rework. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
