Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Buffalo, NY)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Birch Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be scheduling and capacity. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
