Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Boston, MA)

Amberfield Birch Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Boston, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our scheduling and capacity. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Boston. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for claims and act on them. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Boston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
