Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Baltimore, MD)

Cedar Sparrow Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Baltimore. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on scheduling and capacity. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
