Operations Manager - safety and compliance (remote)

Silverline Birch Freight Group moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Rochester, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our safety and compliance. You would join a small organisation of about 12 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for customer tracking and act on them. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with loads and lanes. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
