Operations Manager - safety and compliance (remote)

Fernwood Sparrow Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of St. Louis, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our safety and compliance. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in St. Louis. • We reply to every applicant.
