Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Portland, OR)

We are growing our team at Northwind Bridge Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be safety and compliance. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
