Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Northwind Maple Manufacturing and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be safety and compliance. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for customer orders and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with machine downtime. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
