Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Detroit, MI)

Westbrook Pine Manufacturing is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on safety and compliance for scrap and rework, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for scrap and rework and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
