Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Stone Environmental Services and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be safety and compliance. You would join a small organisation of about 30 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Track performance measures for recycling loads and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
