Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Chicago, IL)

Nova Bright Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Chicago and nearby communities, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our safety and compliance. You would join a small organisation of about 39 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for treatment plant data and act on them. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Chicago. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
