Operations Manager - safety and compliance (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen Cedar Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Birmingham region, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our safety and compliance. You would join a small organisation of about 175 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for cold storage and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
