Operations Manager - process improvement (Virginia Beach, VA)

Amberfield Beacon Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Virginia Beach and nearby communities. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on process improvement. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Track performance measures for water quality and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
