Operations Manager - process improvement (remote)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Granite Manufacturing Group and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be process improvement. You would join a large organisation of about 365 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for scrap and rework and act on them. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
