Operations Manager - process improvement (Portland, OR)

Westbrook Cross Freight is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on process improvement for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track performance measures for carrier rates and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
