Operations Manager - process improvement (Oakland, CA)

Bright Birch Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Oakland. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on process improvement. You would join a small organisation of about 44 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Track performance measures for harvest schedules and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
