Operations Manager - process improvement (Oakland, CA)

Northwind Harbor Environmental Services Associates serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Oakland, and we need an Operations Manager to lead our process improvement. You would join a large organisation of about 405 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for weigh tickets and act on them. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with recycling loads. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
