Operations Manager - process improvement (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Orchard Environmental Services and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be process improvement. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for collection routes and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with fleet maintenance. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
