Operations Manager - process improvement (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Forge Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be process improvement. You would join a large organisation of about 739 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for carrier rates and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
