Operations Manager - process improvement (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Quarry Farms and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be process improvement. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Track performance measures for field records and act on them. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with packing house output. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
