Operations Manager - process improvement (Chicago, IL)

Redstone Bright Manufacturing is a Chicago manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring an Operations Manager to take on process improvement. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Track performance measures for work orders and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
