Operations Manager - process improvement (Birmingham, AL)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Oak Freight and adding an Operations Manager whose main responsibility will be process improvement. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for carrier rates and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
