Operations Manager - process improvement (Birmingham, AL)

Fernwood Rowan Farms is looking for an Operations Manager. The job centres on process improvement for grower contracts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. What we are looking for • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
