Medical Assistant - lab and specimen handling (New Orleans, LA)

Amberfield Ashton Health Group runs clinics and patient services around New Orleans. We are hiring a Medical Assistant to take on lab and specimen handling. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Prepare and label specimens. • Schedule follow-ups, referrals and prior authorisations. • Keep exam rooms stocked and clean. • Room patients, take vitals and record histories. • Assist clinicians during exams and procedures. What we are looking for • Comfort with electronic health records. • Medical assistant training or equivalent experience. • Warm, discreet and dependable. Nice to have • Phlebotomy certification. • Spanish language skills. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
