Logistics Coordinator - dispatch and scheduling (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Wren Freight Group and adding a Logistics Coordinator whose main responsibility will be dispatch and scheduling. You would join a large organisation of about 311 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. • Report on on-time performance for claims. • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. What we are looking for • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. • Strong phone and email manner. Nice to have • Knowledge of freight terms. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
