Logistics Coordinator - dispatch and scheduling (Grand Rapids, MI)

Fernwood Basin Environmental Services Group is an environmental-services company in Grand Rapids with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Logistics Coordinator to lead our dispatch and scheduling. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Schedule pickups and deliveries and keep customers informed of timing. • Track shipments and resolve delays and damage claims. • Coordinate with drivers, carriers and warehouse staff. • Prepare documents such as bills of lading and proofs of delivery. • Report on on-time performance for fleet maintenance. What we are looking for • Comfort with a transport-management system or spreadsheets. • Strong phone and email manner. • One or more years in logistics, dispatch or transportation. Nice to have • Experience with fleet maintenance. • Knowledge of freight terms. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
